What’s It Really Like To Work With Enigin

posted by enigin in Enigin News

What is it really like to work with Enigin PLC? Well I could tell you my experience but what better than to take this chance to talk to one of our busy African Distributors and see how he feels about energy saving and his relationship with Enigin.

I asked Emmanuel how he feels about being an Enigin Distributor in his unmistakable tone he replied, “To be an Enigin distributor; it’s a very challenging job. But apart from being challenging, it’s very interesting because we are representing a company that has 30 years as being in the energy saving business, which means that they can support you technically even though they are not here. We can do supports through their knowledge-base and that has happened several times. They are very creative and innovative. And they are people who don’t just sit around. Meaning that every now and then they are looking for new ways of doing what they are doing. So, it’s very interesting to be a partner with these guys.”

As you can imagined I was pleased with his open and honest reply and this lead me to ask how his customers have reacted?

Savings are made, clients are happy. So when they are happy in this way they’re trying to tell other people that they should try us because they have tried and they are happy with what the results that they are making. If I want to be specific, the textiles company has gladly showcased or has shown to many clients. They want to see where we have installed these devices successfully. And they are always ready to take them around the places where we have done the installations and also to tell others that this is what we are doing and they are partner with us and they are happy. So, they also react in a way that they want to continue with the other areas or other sections of their premises. So, for example, when we did the successful trial on one more appliance it led to another and because in this part of the world these gadgets are fairly new. So they are can be skeptical in placing very huge order on this. So they want to try first to see that what they are doing is working on this particular motor or this particular fan or pump. And so, gradually, one success leads to the other and this is how they are reacting to the energy that’s saved”

My thanks to Emmanuel for taking the time to talk with me, for my part I think it shows the real power of being active and enthusiastic in the energy saving business, and further to that developing good relationships with your customers makes good business not only pleasant but productive. I have to say talking with Emmanuel reminded me the importance of seizing the opportunity to do more business by being able to show people the saving they are making with tools such as the Eniscope wherever I am in the world.

How to Deal with Weird Interview Questions

posted by enigin in General Stuff

By Steve Hill

Last week, with the help of BNET and Glassdoor I  unveiled the top 25 oddball interview questions of 2010,

Those questions raised another debate: How exactly do you answer a weird question, such as the number one in the previous post, reportedly asked by a Goldman Sachs interviewer: If you were shrunk to the size of a pencil and put in a blender, how would you get out?

Thankfully career advisors and interview coaches all agree that interviewers don’t, or shouldn’t, really care what specific answers are given to these types of questions. The purpose is that they want to see how a job candidate approaches a certain type of problem and handles him or herself in an unfamiliar situation.

Weird Interview Questions

I often refer to interesting postings on the excellent bnet.com and they have come up trumps again with a reference to another post on Glassdoor, a job-posting and community site for job-seekers, who compiled a list of the oddest interview questions of last year.

At Enigin we look for honest answers from potential employees and Ebnigin Distributors and hopefully our questions do not come from so far out of left field that they produce deep frowns.

Take the number one question:

If you were shrunk to the size of a pencil and trapped in a blender, how would you get out?

The Darkness Cometh

The debate in many countries over the last couple of weeks has been regarding hour changes for daylight saving or wintertime - in the northern hemisphere at least.

Here at Enigin we often suggest simple way to end users, via Enigin Distributors, to save energy, and guess that is behind this proposal.

I notice that many people have been discussing whether this hour change should be made. suggesting that energy efficiency is affected, by keeping to “summer time” - we would use less light and heat.
